FLX100 FLX70 FLX40 Heavy Duty Carbon Fiber RDM/SDM Windsurfing Mast
The masts for windsurfing are generally divided into 3 levels: FLX100, FLX70 and FLX40. All masts are made by winding process to ensure precise control of the yarn preload and perfect resin infiltration of the yarn (avoiding Defects caused by air bubbles that may be generated between layers). All masts can precisely control the curvature and curve to suit all brands of sails on the market. The high-grade mast has a high carbon fiber content to reduce the weight of the mast and significantly improve the reaction speed and overall performance.
RDM masts are compatible with the curves of SDM masts. Choosing an RDM mast will bring a soft, longer-lasting and comfortable feeling. Choosing the SDM mast will have a faster response speed, a more stable and precise feeling. For competitive sails, we recommend using SDM masts.

Compression test
To simulate the force situation when the sail is assembled, fix the two ends and squeeze the mast. After reaching the corresponding curve of the sail, continue to increase the load until the mast breaks. Get the damage load, compared with the corresponding standard.
Bending test
To get the curvature, support the mast at both ends and hang with a weight of 30 kgs in the middle, then bend is tested in the middle and the other six positions which are equally distributed. Obtain the IMCS value of the mast and draw a standard bending curve for easy comparison with the sail curve.
The carbon fiber winding forming process is a forming process in which the winding machine uses a computer preset program to accurately compile a group of yarns on a pre-designed mold to form a composite material product with a higher degree of mechanization. The advantage of the winding process is that the pretension of the yarn can be maintained throughout the molding process, so that all carbon fibers can share the stress of the product at the same time, thereby better exerting the performance of this new material. Another advantage of the winding process is that it can match different resin systems for carbon fiber according to the requirements of special working conditions, so as to meet some special requirements such as flame retardant, high temperature resistance and strong corrosion resistance.

There are 2 kinds of winding process as below:
1) Dry winding
The main raw material for making carbon fiber tubes by dry winding is carbon fiber prepreg tow. The raw material supplier will accurately control the resin content of the tow when making the prepreg tow, so the quality stability of the manufactured product is relatively easy control. This production method has high efficiency, and the production environment is clean and hygienic, but the raw material price is higher and the storage conditions are higher.
2) Wet winding
This method is mainly to soak the carbon fiber filament tow in the resin first, then wind the soaked tow continuously on a stainless-steel core mold through the control of tension to make a core mold tube.
This method is the mainstream way of making high-performance carbon fiber tubes. The main advantages are: economical process, which can effectively reduce production costs; the internal sealing effect of the product is good, the internal air is extruded, and the porosity of the product is greatly reduced; the fiber layout is balanced Smooth; resin lubricated, can reduce carbon fiber wear during production; production speed is fast. The disadvantages are: there is a certain waste of resin raw materials; the accuracy of the resin content is difficult to control accurately; the environmental friendliness is low.
